Cataphora in the Mitten
History
Cataphora has a long history with the city of Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan (U-M). Two of the company’s founders, Elizabeth Charnock, CEO, and Steve Roberts, CTO, are U-M alumni, as are many other employees at various levels throughout the organization. Our office in Ann Arbor, run by Chris Kurecka, Manager and U-M alum, builds on the company’s ties with U-M and the surrounding community.
Employment
The Michigan Engineering Office is currently staffed with both full- and part-time employees, some of them current U-M students, working primarily on software engineering and quality assurance efforts. If you’re interested in joining our Michigan team, check out some of the available positions on our employment page.
Collaboration
Cataphora has been involved in U-M coursework through the School of Information to help students learn real-world skills. In return, Cataphora has gained additional perspectives and insights from future thought leaders. In addition to coursework and various recruiting activities, we also collaborated with U-M’s Center for Entrepreneurship to create a case study in 2011 about our decision to bootstrap; the full version can be found here. We expect to do more such things over time through partnerships with the University and Ann Arbor community at large.
Location
We are located in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor, just over 3 blocks from Main Street and only a block from the edge of campus.
